RUGUMIRE Liliane is leading ADS gender and women economic empowerment programming. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, a certificate in Cooperative Development and Management from the Cooperative College of Kenya-Nairobi and a post graduate training certificate in Community Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Promotion for African Countries from HITONOMORI, Nagoya-Japan. She is also trained in Management and Elaboration of Business Plan in Micro Finance Development. Liliane has used her academic and training skills in developing standardised cooperative accounting and management systems for maize, mines, coffee and SMEs cooperatives in Rwanda; developed training materials for members, committees and employees of cooperatives; planned and implemented effective and efficient field training programmes for members, committees and employees of cooperatives and planned and implemented effective and efficient institutionalized (residential) training programmes for committees and employees of government and cooperative charged with the responsibility of facilitating proper management of cooperatives. In her work, Liliane has always mainstreamed gender through gender analysis and adaptation of new learning for inclusive economic development, empowered and promoted women Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). She is currently supporting women especially those affected by war and armed conflicts in Eastern DRC with livelihood support projects where she is providing technical skills and accompaniment for sustainable development of women’s SMEs.
